About me
Previously in this space, there was some mindless drivel about what apps I used to make this, and why it resembled a certain page somewhere and so on. I’ve recently woken to the fact that no-one wants to read this, and also that I have since changed the theme of the website, so most of the info there is scarily irrelevant! Oops! This time around, I’d thought I’d actually mention something of myself as opposed to something of the website. If you really want to hear more about the website, drop me an email! So, where do I begin?
My name is Moses Hoyt. I’m currently living in Scotland, near the glorious Athens of the North, Edinburgh. I don’t actually live in Edinburgh, but a small town along the coast, which (when its sunny) is rather nice! I finished school (The Edinburgh Academy) last June (that would be in 2007 if you’re reading this at a later date). I’m now on my gap year, working pretty much full time doing Systems Engineering. At least that’s what the company does, they do not consider me qualified enough to have the title ‘Systems Engineer’ or something along those lines, nor do I for that matter, so instead I’m referred to as the ‘Gap Year Student’. Quite fitting…
After my gap year, I’ve got a place at Pembroke College Cambridge to study Engineering. Most people will be asking at this point, what kind of engineering? But educated ones among you will possess the knowledge that Cambridge only offers a general course, which naturally, specialises later on. After university, I’m really not sure what I’m planning. Do most people have an idea at this point in their lives? I hope they don’t, otherwise I’m a bit far behind and ‘lost’. I would however, love to work for Apple, designing/engineering hardware and having a swell time.
My hobbies, so to speak, could be along the lines of listening to music and playing a bit of music – on the drums, or even playing drums to be more precise. I do some computer related things here and there, repairing and building them, but mainly on Macs, which tend to be better in pretty much every shape and form. I’d happily play badminton given half a chance, but recently I’ve been prone to a bit of Salsa dancing. I also do other normal things like eat, sleep, socialise etc. but who would feel the need to read such things?
I can’t really think of any more things worth mentioning here. Generally when I think of something worthwhile, it ends up in the blog, a suggestion would be to check there…
